Online Experiences and Young People's Wellbeing 19th August, 1PM-2PM BST
Young people are growing up in digital spaces that shape how they learn, socialise, form their identities and ask for emotional help. The same platforms that offer belonging and support also expose them to bullying, harassment, appearance pressure and design built to keep them scrolling.
Governments have mostly responded by trying to limit access, but young people are asking for something different, and more precise. What happens when we stop asking how to protect young people from the internet, and start asking how to build one that works for them? In this webinar, we bring together young advocates, researchers and practitioners to explore what the evidence supports, what young people are calling for, and what advocates can do next.
Save the date! The registration link will be shared shortly.
Webinar: Being Online Gallery Launch - 12th August, 11am-12pm BST
The Being Online: Digital Gallery launch marks the culmination of a global call by DTH-Lab, in collaboration with The GMHAN Child & Youth Working Group, inviting young people to share creative reflections on their experiences of digital environments. Following submissions from nearly 40 countries, the gallery brings together 41 selected artworks exploring the complex relationship young people have with digital environments.
Together with young artists, researchers, policymakers and partners, the event will launch the gallery, announce the winning artworks and explore what young people’s creative expressions can teach us about digital well-being, digital determinants of health and the need to create healthier and safer digital environments for current and future generations.
Knowledge Exchange: Peer Support in Action: A Youth-Led Model for Youth Mental Health with Teenergizer
How can young people support each other in meaningful and safe ways? This session will share Teenergizer’s experience in building a youth-led peer support model for mental health in the EECA region. It will highlight practical approaches to training, supervision, and safeguarding. The model not only provides accessible support to vulnerable young people but also creates opportunities for young professionals in the mental health field to gain practical experience during their studies and remain engaged in the sector. Participants will leave with practical ideas and inspiration to apply peer support in their own contexts.
This session is exclusively for GMHAN members. Join the network today and access the joining link on Circle!
